SkillsCymru returns to help Conwy pupils with their careers

July 12, 2021 - 888 views

A leading skills, career and apprenticeship event is heading to virtually to Llandudno this Autumn with local teachers, schools and pupils invited to sign up and take part.

Following a year of disruption for local pupils, organisers are hoping that this year's free event will help provide a useful resource for those working in the education sector.

Whether you are a student, parent, teacher or just trying to figure out your next steps, SkillsCymru is open to everyone. A visit will ensure students understand all of the pathways available, whether that’s further/higher education, apprenticeships or just straight into the world of work.

Teachers are also been urged to share the invitation so those interested can book their individual place.

The SkillsCymru series are designed for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13, but the events are
free for anyone who would like to visit digitally. The Llandudno event is accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities.

"This is a way for your students in school, college, sixth form or community group to deliver dynamic careers education, information, advice and guidance and to ensure your students have a meaningful, digital, interaction with employers, further education and higher education providers as outlined in the government’s careers strategy.

"Group attendees from schools or colleges will receive free classroom resources a month or so before your visit to help you prepare your students to ensure they get the most out of this visit."

The event takes place on Wednesday November 17 from 9.30am through to 4.30pm.
