Many schools in North Wales remain closed today due to the freezing weather and icy conditions. Some primary and secondary schools close to Colwyn Bay have been particularly hit by ice and headteachers made the decision to keep schools closed after sending pupils home yesterday.
Despite the lifting of this morning's yellow weather warning, roads and pavements around Conwy County remain dangerous. Tonight will be dry but cold with icy stretches and freezing fog.
Tomorrow (Saturday 11 Jan) will have some sunshine in the North East but it will still be cold, with a maximum temperature of 4 °C.
Sunday will be dry and bright with occasional sunny spells. Next week is expected to be milder with patchy rain expected on Monday and Tuesday.
