An amber weather warning for high winds and rain is putting North Wales on high alert this evening. As Storm Isha hits many homes across Wales and Conwy County are without power.

Until 6am on Monday morning residents are being told to stay at home and only make journeys unless strictly necessary.

In developments this evening, wind speeds have been recorded at 80 miles per in Capel Curig and heavy flooding has been experienced on the A5 and A470 between Betws-y-Coed and Dolwyddelan.

Furthermore, North Wales Police have now entirely closed the A55 Britannia Bridge impacting on traffic heading on and off Anglesey.

Whilst the A5 Menai Suspension Bridge currently remains open, weight restrictions are in place and vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are not permitted to cross. North Wales Police say that traffic unable to cross, should return back to their depot or park up until the weather conditions improve and restrictions on the Britannia Bridge are eased.

Residents leaving close to the coast are warned of debris and stones being thrown from the sea onto coastal paths and promenades.

We'll have more on this story as soon as we have it.
