Teams respond to medical emergency in Rhosneigr dunes

Two coastguard rescue teams were called into action yesterday after reports of an unconscious person in the sand dunes near Traeth Llydan, Rhosneigr.

The tasking was coordinated by Holyhead Coastguard Rescue Team and Rhosneigr Coastguard Rescue Team following an alert from Holyhead Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre. Both teams were deployed to assist paramedics from Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.

Rescue teams arrived quickly on scene and supported medical crews in the dunes area of Traeth Llydan. The casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene before being safely transferred into an ambulance for further care.

Coastguard personnel remained on standby until the handover was complete, before being stood down and returning to station to prepare for further callouts.

A spokesperson said they wished the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
