Clinical staff at St David’s Hospice recently received a kind donation of sweets and food goodies from the TK Maxx store Prestatyn for the staff to enjoy.
Chel Sealey, Team Leader at Prestatyn store organised the donation and explained they wanted to give something back to those who have continually worked so very hard through the last 12 months.
TK Maxx stores across the country have chosen to donate their date sensitive and seasonal stock after the government announced all “non-essential” shops must close down immediately, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Chel Sealey, who lives in Llandudno said: “St David’s Hospice is an amazing place and is at the heart of the community. In 2017, they looked after my brother. It was only for a short time, but the end of life care he received was overwhelming. They cared for us all, including our large family.”

In addition to the treats for the staff, the adult Hospice has also received a £1000 donation as part of the TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation Community Fund.
The Community Fund, which has been set up to help local grassroots charities who are working hard in the fight against Covid-19, asked associates from the TK Maxx and Homesense stores to nominate charities within their community who are doing great work in supporting the most vulnerable.
Hayley Coughlin, Store Manager TK Maxx Llandudno nominated her local adult hospice for the fund and St David’s Hospice was recently donated £1000 towards their survival through the pandemic.
Adrian Owen, Conwy Community Fundraiser for the Hospice said: “Big thank you to the staff at TK Maxx for their generous donations. It is a really thoughtful gesture, the treats will definitely be enjoyed by our clinical team and the monetary donation will make a big difference to our patients and their families in our community.”
