Seagull's boss Craig Hogg says he is very pleased to be able to confirm that top scorer Mitch Bryant will be remaining at the club for next season.

The 29-year-old striker scored 14 goals and had 12 assists in his 26 games for the Bay in the past season. The manager has also revealed that six other members of the squad have also agreed terms to sign on again. On Bryant, he commented: "For me, he was one of the best number 9s in the league last season and quickly became a fans favourite.

"We are very pleased he has agreed to be part of what we want to achieve next season and the hope is he will continue to enjoy his football here and replicate the excellent form he showed during the last campaign."

Mitch, who joined the Bay from Runcorn Linnets last summer, said: "I'm delighted to have agreed to stay for next season. Coming into the complete unknown to Welsh football last year, with a new club and a new manager, was a really positive challenge for me - and I loved every minute of it.

"The club has a plan in which we feel we should be challenging to win promotion. With a bit of luck there is no reason why this can't be achieved in the next two years and I have every belief that if we carry over the hard work and quality from last season, we really will be pushing for success in the coming year."

The manager has also confirmed that the club have agreed terms with Joe Chaplin, Alex Downes, Sion Edwards, Cai Owen, Sam Downey and Callum Parry.

"Joe Chaplin scored some important goals for our club last season and had a really productive spell when he went out on loan." he said. "I'm really looking forward to working with him again and seeing him back in a Bay shirt."

Commenting on the other players who have agreed to stay on, Craig said: "It is no secret that Alex Downes is considered one of the best young defenders in the Welsh semi-pro game. I am looking forward to seeing a continuation in his growing football maturity here at Colwyn Bay.

"Sion Edwards had a brilliant debut season for the club and has become an extremely important player for us for many reasons. Sion agreeing terms with the club is really excellent news indeed.

"Cai Owen, Sam Downey and Callum Parry joined us in the January window and all settled in very well, producing some outstanding form.

"I'm delighted they have also agreed terms and Cai, Sam and Callum, along with the other players we have here, could become household names in years to come if they continue to  apply themselves the way they have done."

The manager added the will be making further announcements regarding the playing squad later this week. "I am sure Bay fans will be pleased with what they read," said Hogg.
