Rumours are building today that I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here could be back at everyone's favourite castle on the North Wales coast later this year.
According to a report in today's Daily Mirror, a television insider claims that ITV bosses have made a decision to return to Gwrych Castle for a second series, as the challenge of filming in Australia due to Covid was too uncertain.
This follows confirmation from the Australian government that the country's borders will remain closed across the summer whilst the country tackles the on-going pandemic.
This has seen curfews and travel between Australian towns and cities limited and international travel restricted.
Not only did the North Wales economy receive a big boost from the series coming to Abergele but the worldwide publcity put the world attention on the castle's restoration bid.
I'm A Celebrity was one of ITV’s biggest shows last year with an average of 11.2 million viewers watching across the series and a peak of 12.1m viewers watching the final as Giovanna Fletcher was crowned Queen of the Castle.
