Two bodies have been found in the Eryri mountain range during a major search for two missing young men.
Concerns were raised with North Wales Police on Wednesday about the welfare of the men, aged 19 and 20. A large-scale multi-agency operation was launched on Yr Wyddfa, involving mountain rescue teams and specialist search units.
Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team, the RAF Mountain Rescue Service, Search and Rescue Dogs Association and HM Coastguard all took part in extensive searches in full winter conditions.
Police have not released further details. The deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in Wales, is a popular destination for walkers and climbers but can present dangerous conditions during winter, with ice, snow and strong winds creating significant hazards even for experienced hikers.
