A team of Wales & West Utilities colleagues have rallied to provide warm hats and gloves which are being donated to help more than 70 homeless people living on the streets in Llandudno.

The team, which has been working on a gas pipe upgrade project in the Great Ormes Road area of the town since August, has been keen to support the efforts of both the local foodbank and homeless charity, Hope Restored, which both run from the local Lighthouse Community Church.

Wanting to make even the smallest difference to vulnerable local people this winter, the team has donated 70 hats and gloves to help keep people warm during the cold months.

Mark Morris, manager for the gas pipe upgrade work, explains:

“Having worked in the area for some time we have been struck by the support efforts of both the foodbank and Hope Restored and wanted to play a part in helping to make a difference to those people locally.

“We hope this donation will go some way to helping those who are homeless this winter.”

Hope Restored was established in 2010 in response to a desperate need for action in the Llandudno area to help the homeless and needy within the community.

Brenda Fogg, founder of Hope Restored, added:

“A massive thank you to Wales & West Utilities for taking the time to raise money for Hope Restored and providing warm hats and gloves at a time when we are so busy, and with the long, cold wintry days. These will make such a difference to are those in need and we are truly grateful to you all.”
