People travelling from North-West Wales towards Wrexham are being advised to avoid part of Llay Industrial Estate, where firefighters are continuing to deal with a large scrap metal yard fire.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at around 7pm yesterday evening, with as many as 12 fire engines attending at the height of the operation.
Fire crews remain at the site this morning, tackling hotspots and monitoring the area.
The fire is particularly relevant to people travelling into Wrexham and Llay from North-West Wales, with motorists being asked to avoid the area where possible and to keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
Firefighters are working with Natural Resources Wales to monitor the situation and help minimise any environmental impact from the fire.
People who are affected by smoke are being advised to keep windows and doors closed.
The fire service has thanked motorists and local residents for their patience and cooperation while crews remain at the scene.
Anyone travelling towards Llay or Wrexham this morning is advised to allow extra time, check their route before setting off and follow any local traffic or emergency service instructions.
