Trading Standards Officers in Conwy are warning residents to beware of door-to-door callers posing as Council staff.
This follows recent reports of door-to-door callers offering boiler grants in Llanrhos and Llandudno and claiming a link to the local authority.
Conwy County Borough Council is not carrying out visits like this. Always ask to see an ID card, which will clearly identify authorised staff.
If in doubt, phone the Council direct to find out if they are genuine.
If you’re concerned about a cold caller, call Trading Standards on 01492 575220 or the Police on 101. If you feel intimidated or threatened by any doorstep seller you should shut the door and call the police emergency number 999.
