What a week for volunteering in the Bay and Conwy!

June 06, 2021 - 1435 views

Volunteers Week has been a fantastic success across the Bay and in Conwy as charitable and not-for-profit organisations have celebrated the remarkable contribution that people have made to keeping their communities going during a very difficult time.

Amongst the many highlights has been the Conwy Voluntary Services Council who have been delivering certificates of recognition to people who have racked up many hundreds of hours helping out in the last 12 months, a volunteers award afternoon by the Kind Bay Initiative and one of the biggest voluntary litter picks that Eirias Park has ever seen!

Yesterday 40 volunteer Police cadets assisted Friends of Eirias Park and collected an impressive 54kg of litter. The day was planned not only to celebrate volunteering but also to mark World Environment Day.

A fantastic week of celebration will conclude on Monday and as always there's an open invitation to lend a hand whenever new volunteers have free time. You can hear a special podcast on how to get involved in Conwy here.

Volunteers’ Week is supported and celebrated by small grassroots organisations as well as larger, household-name charities, who together run hundreds of activities across the UK.
