The Seagulls have today confirmed another set of player loans and have confirmed the signings of Owen Cushion and Dan Davies from Wrexham for the rest of the season.

Left-back Dan is a product of the Wrexham AFC Youth team and signed his first professional contract in January 2022.

In September 2021 he linked up with the national team making his Wales Under-18s debut against England in a 1-1 draw.

He spent time on trial with Liverpool, Stoke City, Brighton and Chelsea before committing to his first professional contract with Wrexham in January 2022 at the age of 17.

Midfielder Owen signed his first professional contract with the club this summer.

The 18-year-old midfielder played a key part in the youth team’s National League Youth Alliance success during the 2022/23 season, where they also reached the FAW Youth Cup semi-finals.

Cushion also made first-team appearances during pre-season, while being a part of the matchday squad in the FA Trophy game against Altrincham last season.

Over the course of the season, Cushion would go on to make 19 appearances in the Youth Alliance, whilst also registering five goals in the competition.

His initial deal at the STōK Cae Ras will run until the end of the 2023/24 season, with the option of an extension for an additional year.

Bay manager Steve Evans said: “Our thanks go to Wrexham for helping us with Dan and Owen.

“Owen a central midfielder who’s got bags of energy. He’s a tenacious player who’s always looking to get on the ball to create opportunities with his quality.

“Dan is a strong powerful defender who can play anywhere down left side. He’s quick and someone who’s really strong in 1v1 defending. He’s also as comfortable going forward.

“Both have been in and around Wrexham’s first team, playing in the EFL Trophy this season.

“This move allows them to gain more experience within the senior game and further help their development whilst helping Colwyn Bay for the rest of season.”
