In a story to warm your Friday morning, the Idlewild Animal Santuary in Colwyn Bay has shared a story about a little owl which is being looked after and being brought back to health after being discovered in the town.

In a post of Facebook the santuary said: "Little Owlet nicknamed "Twix" is gaining weight nicely now 269 grams. This little one was found in Colwyn Bay nearly a week ago now.

"He was extremely thin, wouldn't eat and had been on the ground for a few days. Normally we would find a place of safety and put them high up in a tree but sadly he was and on a busy road with no trees around.

"Local teenagers where picking him up and taking pictures and he was exhausted and near collapse.

"When he came in he was very underweigh but now he is doing well, eating and gaining weight. Hopefully he if keeps improving and eating well, he will be moved to an outdoor flight and will be one step closer to going back to the wild."

Bayside will undoubtedly keep you posted on the progress of Twix in the days and weeks to come!
