Young people can apply for grant voted on by Bay community

The Bay of Colwyn Town Council are inviting young people from within the council area to think about special projects or events which might benefit them, which would happen next year.

The council has allocated £5,000 from its annual budget to help support youth projects or activities in 2021, with residents and local groups being asked to decide which projects receive support through a system called ‘Participatory Budgeting’. This means local people will make a decision on how the grant money is allocated or chosen.

The Mayor of Colwyn Bay, Cllr Neil Bastow, sends the following plea to the residents, and particularly the young people, of Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn and Rhos on Sea; “We need your ideas for projects or activities for our local young people.

"The application process is really simple and you, our local residents, will be able to decide which projects receive funding at a voting event in February 2021."
