Darren Millar, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Clwyd West, and Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, have congratulated Abergele-based Phoenix Hair and Make Up for securing an exciting new business opportunity.

Phoenix Hair and Make Up is one of two North Wales companies to win contracts with the Welsh NHS’s Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to provide a fully managed wig service.

Wigs have a wide range of uses in medical care, and Darren Millar and Sam Rowlands are pleased to see North Wales’ health board buying local and supporting small businesses.  The contract allows patients to have their own bespoke wig created in the style of their choosing.

Both the Senedd members recently paid a visit to Phoenix Hair and Make Up to congratulate owner, Pauline Heap-Williams.

Mr. Millar said: “After visiting Phoenix Hair and Make Up it’s easy to see why they have secured this Welsh NHS contract.  The enthusiasm and passion from Pauline and the team shines through as soon as you step inside.

“Large public bodies like the Welsh NHS have an important role to play in supporting our local economy, and I’m delighted to see them supporting an entrepreneur like Pauline.”

Sam Rowlands said: “It was fascinating to visit Pauline and the team at Phoenix Hair and Make Up and find out more about the wide range of hair treatments they offer.  Both Darren and I had an opportunity to see their PRP hair loss and restoration suite, and we both were able to see our scalps close up under a digital microscope.  It’s great to see a small, local business being able to provide this array of services to their customers.”

Pauline Heap-Williams said: “This new contract with the Welsh NHS is a big opportunity for Phoenix Hair and Make Up.  Wigs have a number of uses in medical treatment and we’re looking forward to supporting more people.”
