Call and collect library service launched in Colwyn Bay

Colwyn Bay Library and other main libraries in Conwy have launched a Call and Collect service making its library stock available in the safest possible way.

You can now complete an online form on the Conwy County Borough Council's website at www.conwy.gov.uk/libraries or call 01492 576139 with your reading choices. The line is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Library staff will prepare a selection of books/audiobooks based on your reading preferences.

They will then contact you to arrange a time to collect your books from the library entrance at Area Libraries in Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno and Llanrwst.

The library says that they cannot take requests for specific books at this stage but will aim to find books you’ll enjoy. They hope to introduce you to new books and authors you’ll love!

Cllr Dr Mark Baker, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Culture said, “I’m pleased to be able to confirm arrangements for our new call and collect library service.

"Although our library buildings will remain closed for the time being to protect both you and our staff and until we have further guidelines in place, we can now provide you with a wide choice of books.

"Let us know what you like to read and our staff will put together a collection of books for you and book an appointment for you to collect them.”

The service will be available soon at the Community Libraries in Penrhyn Bay, Kinmel Bay, Cerrigydrudion, Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr.
