Llandudno Library is currently home to a truly unique art exhibition: Emerging Woman Art Journey.
Visiting the exhibition of work created by residents of Cartrefi Conwy, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, got to hear the stories of local residents who started with blank canvases and finished with local masterpieces.
The display is the culmination of a project which has seen Cartrefi Conwy cooperates with an artist, Lisa Lochhead, to give individuals who have faced a tough time an opportunity to shine.
Commenting after visit the exhibition, Janet said: “It is incredible how people who have suffered with serious health complaints have been able to change their lives massively thanks to the sessions hosted by Cartrefi Conwy and Lisa Lochhead.
“Getting to see the artwork first hand, and speak to the artists, really helped me to see how creative activities unlock people’s potential.
“Each lady should be proud of the masterpieces they have created. In fact, there is a lesson for us all: if you are feeling low at any point, it is astonishing the positive impact putting pen to paper, quill to ink, or colour to canvas can have”.
