Councillors in Old Colwyn have accused Conwy's Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Cllr Goronwy Edwards, of not listening to residents regarding parking charges on the promenade.
Despite objections and evidence presented, the decision to impose charges from the Arches to Rotary Way will now go ahead.
The councillors expressed their disappointment at the decision and have vowed to monitor the situation, and make representations if parking spreads to nearby residential areas.
In a message to residents on social media, Cllr Cheryl Carsisle said: "We have now unfortunately exhausted all avenues of protest, so the charges will go ahead.
"We have however managed to secure 3 additional parking spaces for Blue Badge holders opposite the Fishing/Viewing platform which will help those residents with disabilities.
"We are very sorry that this decision has been made on what seem to be purely financial reasons, especially when the area from, and including, Porth Eirias to Rotary Way has had broken parking meters for some two years.
"We thank each and every one of you for taking the time to contact us about this, and for sending your objections to Conwy Council over the last year."
