Over the weekend of September 23rd – 25th, St David’s Hospice will be holding three trail events across Snowdonia in a bid to raise funds for local end-of-life care.
The Snowdonia Trail Series is a bespoke running and walking event open to all.
The first trail event is a 10km night run around Llanberis’ Llyn Padarn on Friday 23rd September (6pm), followed by a 10 am start on Saturday 24th in the picturesque Gwydir Forest Park Betws y Coed (10km), with the finale on Sunday 25th at the stunning Aber Falls (7km) which follows the North Wales Coastal path.
It is hoped the events will raise much-needed funds for the local charity which provides hospice care to adult patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
St David’s Hospice Events Coordinator, Rhian Jacobs said: “This event is accessible to all. We will be welcoming both walkers and runners to the series of routes.
“You can choose to walk, run & walk, or just run, also choose how many you would like to take part in. It’s a personal challenge that you can set the level of, and enjoy at your own pace!
“Trail running provides an excellent opportunity to get outdoors while moving your body. Not only does trail running improve your physical health, but it also bodes well for your mental health, too. We look forward to seeing everyone there! ”
All participants must be over the age of 16.
Registration for runners is £22 per event, which includes chip timing and a medal, for walkers £16, which includes a medal. Alternatively, you can take part in all three events for a reduced entry fee: £39 (walkers) and £49 (runners). Sponsorship is optional.
