First anniversary of a tasty children's hospice partnership

Ty Gobaith, Conwy's children's hospice and Hope House, Oswestry have been celebrating a year in fundraising partnership with popular Indian street food chain Mowgli.

The eatery whose branch at Cheshire Oaks turns one this week have been a supporter of the children’s hospices since they opened and have made impressive donations through their charitable venture the Mowgli Trust.

By asking customers to make a small donation through their bill, the restaurant is able to support good causes in every community that they have a branch and in just a year have raised an incredible £36,500 for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.

Marking his branch’s very successful first year in business, Ben Fitzsimmons, General Manager of Mowgli Cheshire Oaks said: “Through the Mowgli Trust we are proud to support such a valuable charity as Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.

“As well as our donation scheme through our kind-hearted customers, our staff have held several events such fundraising quiz nights and sponsored dog walks.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership and helping to offer families across the area the chance to access the specialist nursing care and support that Hope House Tŷ Gobaith provide.

Nicola Eyes, Area Fundraiser for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith has worked closely with Mowgli over the past year and said: “It is a pleasure working in partnership with such a community-focused company as Mowgli and their very generous donations go a long way to help us provide specialist nursing care to 750 families across the region.

“Ben and the team have been so easy to work with and we are so grateful to all the staff and the wider Mowgli Trust.”

Mowgli was founded in 2014 by British chef and TV presenter Nisha Katona who gave up a 20 year career as a barrister to follow her dream of opening restaurants that serve authentic Indian street food and home-style cooking.
