Gwrych Castle staff have expressed its dismay after experiencing vandalism just a day before the location was handed over to ITV for the filming of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
In a story which ITV have also shared today, the Gwrych Castle Trust showed photos of their restored east lawn castle battlements which were destroyed in a mindless act by what is thought to be a number of children.
A spokesperson for the trust expressed their upset and said: "Our final day reminded us how far we’ve come, but also how much we have left to do over the coming years.
"It was a huge shame to see that somebody damaged one of the restored battlements on the east lawn on our last day. This goes to show the huge task we have ahead of us!".
Whilst work to repair the battlements continues, Police have been informed of the vandalism.
The castle closed its doors to the public last Sunday and will re-open again in the New Year once filming of the popular series with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly has finished filming and the building is handed back by producers ITV Studios.
