It has been confirmed that Colwyn Bay patients threatened with the loss of their dentist will automtically transfer to a new practice following the withdrawal of services from BUPA Dental Care.
The company has now written to patients to confirm that the practice on Princess Drive in the town will be taken over by Eirlys Dental under the ownership of Mr. M. Hassaan.
"We wrote to you last November informing you that the practice is closing. We are delighted to announce that ownership of the practice will now transfer to Mr. M. Hassaan of Eirlys Dental.
"Eirlys Dental are a family friendly dental practice based in North Wales, offering NHS and private dental care to the local community and surrounding areas."
Clwyd West MS Darren Millar, who has been leading a campaign to save dental services in Colwyn Bay, following Bupa Dental Care’s decision to close in the town, has welcomed news that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board have given the green light for the new provider to take over the practice.
It was feared that 12,000 people would be without a dentist as other NHS dentists in the area are full to capacity and unable to take them on.
Eirlys Dental will take over the practice from February 16th 2021.
