Part 8
Alucard had gathered all the necessary equipment that he needed for the mines. On the contrary of what most people think of Alucard he takes his work very seriously, he knows all too well what the dangers these monsters can pose, alone ghouls are not that dangerous for an average man with no sword training the ghoul could easily kill the man. But vs a soldier or trained hunter, they were easily dispatched. What makes ghouls so terrifying is they normally hunt with the cover of night and in a large pack. They are clever and terrifying creatures especially if one is unprepared.
The mountain path leading to the entrance of the mines was steep and rugged. Alucard followed......
Part 9
As both of them made their way back down the path they had come in from, none said a word. The journey back through the dimly lit tunnels felt longer and more foreboding than before. Alucard's senses were on high alert, every shadow and echoing sound scrutinised for potential threats. Brok, though not as attuned to the subtleties of the supernatural, mirrored Alucard's seriousness, realising the gravity of the situation. Brok walked beside him the crushing sounds of stones and earth shifting from under Brok's boot.
As they made it back to where they started they could see a small glow of a low light in the distance at the end of the tunnel; it was most likely Markus and......
Part 10
The group, guided by Brok, moved cautiously through the dark tunnels, the light of their torches casting long shadows. The rhythmic sounds of the ghouls grew louder as they approached the depths of the mine.
Brok consulted his map, his finger tracing the route to the next elevator shaft. The group knew they were getting closer to the heart of the ghoul activity. Alucard, always on edge, scanned the surroundings with his sharp eyes.
As they advanced, the tunnel widened into a cavernous space. The torchlight revealed a sprawling underground chamber, the walls lined with jagged rock formations. The rhythmic sounds echoed louder here, bouncing off the walls and creating......
Part 11
Alucard marched behind the small group of priests, maintaining a respectful distance so as not to intimidate them, yet still staying a few feet behind. As they walked through town, Alucard couldn't help but notice that he had attracted the attention of many of the people. This was to be expected, as it was well known that the members of the Eternal Flame did not like nor believe they needed his help with the town's problem. The small group of priests did not speak to Alucard, nor did they even turn around to check if he was still following them. Perhaps they didn't really care if Alucard accepted the invitation, or maybe they thought he would decline and they wouldn't......
Part 12
Alucard had left the church grounds, not wanting to stay any longer. He did not think he would see eye to eye with Father Maxwell, but being summoned by him was a good reason to get a feel for the man out and who he was. Many people within the town, including the Lord's wife, believe he has something to do with everything that has happened so far, even though he did not arrive a few years after the first recorded killings happened. It was a mystery, one that Alucard knew had an answer, but he could not figure it out, it plagued his mind, nourishing it at every moment.
He could always trust his instinct in the past, but this was different. He was not sure what to believe,......
Part 13
Alucard awoke suddenly, he looked around and saw he was in a small well designed room, there was an open fire place burning fresh logs, fresh candles lit the room casting dancing shadows with the open fire. The sound of the logs cracking from the heat, and sparks flying off hitting the shield.
He was in such pain, his side left like it had been torn open and put back together and torn open once again, the pain was unreal. As Alucard struggled to make sense of his surroundings, he notes a small dwarf like person sitting on a char in the corner of the room, the room was quite dark, he could not make out his face, the dwarf like fellow let out a loud snort like sound, it......
Part 14
A few days had past since Alucard had spoken with Eugene and Davos surrounding the night of the attack and what had transpired, but Alucard did what he was told he stayed where he was resting, regaining his strength, but not for the lack of trying every time he tried to sneak out of the manor without anyone seeing him, even with the help of Brok a few time, he was always cort by one of the maids or even Ezrin herself, she always told both of them off, right there and then, he had quite the temper on her, you would not think she was only a girl of 19 years.
Despite the confined space, Alucard had managed to gather some useful information. Brok, with his keen ears and......
Part 15
Sir Cedric walked down the cobbled streets by himself, but if he wanted to go unnoticed that was not possible, everyone he walked passed smiled and waves whispering between one another, even many women who worked the streets tried their luck with him, he was very flattered by the advancements, he was always a gentleman to them, letting them down gently, but they never had any ill will towards him they always left smiling after there very brief conversation.
After a brief moment enjoying himself, he walked towards the location of the Church, modest yet enchanting Sanctuary of the Eternal Flame. Although the faith in the Eternal Flame is a newcomer to the town, the......
Part 16
Sir Cedric left the room followed by his knight captains, Rolland and Thomas, as they left Cedric turned around and said something to them and then laughed. They both did not seem to share his humour. They closed the door behind leaving Davos and Alucard alone in the old home.
“Do you think we can trust Sir Cedric, Alucard?”
“I believe he is a man of honour and integrity, I do believe he is here to help, but I don't know if he is here to help us or help his own political gain. I Have not been to the capital in a long time, so I am unfamiliar with people and the current game.”
Davos sighed, the weight of the town's troubles evident in his......
Part 17
Alucard woke up early the next morning, he got up, put his gear on and his new weapon, Nightshade, he clipped it to his belt, along with his bullwhip and his sword. He grabbed the new armour Brok had mended for him, as he put it on, it felt lighter and more flexible. Brok had completely outdone himself, his movements felt more free and easier, he had more control, less heavy. The material felt like a second skin, providing both protection and agility. Brok's expertise had indeed proven invaluable.
With the newly enhanced armour fitting him snugly, Alucard felt a renewed sense of readiness. The morning sun cast a warm glow over Iron Harbour as he......
