This video tells the story of young people from Llandrillo College with Additional Learning Needs and the journey they’ve taken with us at Llandudno Museum. What started four years ago with small groups visiting once a week has grown into real work experience programmes, where students take on meaningful roles—caring for the garden, helping with supplies, supporting our Collections team, and even creating displays and exhibition pieces. For many, this was their very first time in a museum, and at first, they arrived shy and uncertain. But week by week, their confidence blossomed. They discovered new skills, new friendships, and most importantly, a sense of pride in themselves. For some who had struggled in school, this has been life-changing. Each summer, we celebrate their achievements with an award ceremony filled with joy, laughter, and even a few tears, as students share what the museum has meant to them. These are moments of pure inspiration—and a reminder of the difference we can make when young people are given the chance to shine. #museum #history #llandrilloCollege #llandudnomuseum #education #localhistorymuseum #communitycollaboration #LearningIsFun
