CVSC and Innogy Renewables helping support our community

The Covid-19 pandemic is effecting all walks of life in Conwy area. From local businesses who have had to shut their doors to local people who are worried about their livelihoods and health, the virus is changing the way we live.

Volunteering is an essential part of life in the Bay of Colwyn and across Conwy. Each week many thousands of local people give their time to organisations for free, to make a difference and support essential services.

However in light of the virus some groups  have struggled to keep their volunteering services going and others need funding to provide all the support now needed for the community in very different circumstances.

Conwy Voluntary Services Council (CVSC) are aware of the pressure that is being put on the Third Sector due to the Corona Virus pandemic.

Many organisations are on the frontlines and are looking after the most vulnerable members of society.  As part of our support to the third sector during this difficult time they have taken action to make funds available for such projects.

Thanks to the response of Innogy Renewables, the organisation behind the Gwynt-y-Mor and Clocaenog Forest Community Funds an immediate response fund has been set up.

Grants are now available in the areas of benefit of £100-£5000 to help volunteering at this difficult time and also provide financial help to promote projects that can provide a lifeline to communities, in particular vulnerable people and the elderly who may have difficulty coping with isolation and maintaining their day-to-day lives.

CVSC aims to support voluntary and community action in the County Borough of Conwy. In particular the advancement of education, the protection of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness.

The organisation brings together representatives of the voluntary and statutory sectors to work in partnership for the good of the residents of the County.
