Colwyn Bay FC have made their first move in the January transfer window by signing experienced central midfielder Sam Downey from Llandudno.
The 25-year-old, described as a box to box player with a great engine, is originally from the Lincoln area and has played Conference North football with North Ferriby United and Corby Town, and was with Spalding United in the Evostik League prior to moving to North Wales and signing for Rhyl, Denbigh Town and then Llandudno.
He spent his early career playing in Sweden, for Gallivere Malmbergets and in Iceland with Leiknir Reykjavik.
Manager Craig Hogg commented: "We are very pleased to bring Sam to the football club.
"Sam is originally from Lincoln, but now lives in Dwygyfylchi and is a player who has impressed us a great deal with his performances for Llandudno this season.
"I would like to thank the officials at Llandudno FC for making this transfer as smooth as it has been.
"Sam is a player with a real desire and hunger to kick on with his football and he will bring a combative and energetic presence tom our central midfield, along with some really good quality on the ball.
"He is someone who we feel will be a very strong addition to the group of players we have and we all look forward to working with him and seeing him in action for the Bay."
Downey will be available for selection for this weekend's away game at Llanrhaeadr YM.
Hogg added: " Further transfer activity in the coming days and weeks are possible and the club will be making further statements should anything else happen on that front.
