Driving conditions across the North Wales coast and Conwy Valley continues to deterioriate tonight as surface water and driving rain makes travel extremely hazardrous. Power cuts have been reported in some areas.

Following the continuing battering from Storm Dennis, North Wales Police have confirmed that the B5106 from Llanrwst to Gwydir and School Bank Road in Llanrwst is now closed due to flooding.

The A5 Ogwen Valley road between Bethesda and Capel Curig is said to be impassable.

Following on from last weekend's storm damage, Llanrwst has been on tenterhooks but many residents have pulled together.

Earlier today volunteers joined forces to help the town prepare including four local men who paid for supplies out of their own pocket to try and keep flooding at bay after appeals for free sandbags from residents were declined.

Local resident Samantha Casey said how grateful she was to see everyone pulling together.

"These lads are real superstars and about people and they deserve recognition for helping out. So thank you to Leon and Philip Doran, George Evans and Robert Galvin."

Earlier today a tree fell across the A470 near Tal-y-Cafn cutting off traffic and causing massive delays and many train services between Llandudno Junction and Llandudno were cancelled.

On Anglesey, conditions have become dangerous on roads around Trearddur Bay and the Holyhead area. The Britannia Bridge has been forced to close to all vehicles except for passenger cars. Ferries to and from Dublin have been delayed throughout the day.

An amber warning remains in place until 4pm on Sunday afternoon (16th February). 16 areas in Wales including Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd will experience up to 40mm of rain and up to 120mm on higher ground.

Earlier today a Tidal Flood Alert was issued in Liverpool for surrounding areas. This is now in force and could see the North Wales coast experience high spring tides adding to problems from rainfall.

The times and dates of the forecast high waters for Liverpool are available on the Admiralty Easy Tide website.

Sunday will remain wet with heavy rain before clearing towards Monday, however winds are expected to remain fresh to strong.
